LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR PRESENTS
2009 ROYAL CANADIAN HUMANE ASSOCIATION
CANADA BRAVERY AWARDS
TORONTO – The Honourable David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, will present the 2009 royal Canadian Humane Association Canada Bravery Awards in his suite at Queen’s Park on Friday, October 9, 2009.
“I am pleased to present these awards to fourteen of Ontario’s most deserving people”
, said the Honourable David C. Onley. “These recipients have shown tremendous care and profound courage by placing their own lives in jeopardy in order to help others in high risk situations.”
The Royal Canadian Humane Association was created in 1894 by the permission of Her Majesty, Queen Victoria, and recognizes deeds of heroism by Canadians in civilian life who attempt to save a life where “those actions lie outside the ordinary duties of the person involved.”
