LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR PRESENTS

LAST POST FUND’S LONG SERVICE MEDAL

TORONTO – The Honourable David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, will present 8 Directors of the Last Post Fund with the Long Service Medal to recognize their outstanding efforts to support those who have served their country.

The Long Service Medal has been created to celebrate the dedicated staff and volunteer directors of the Last Post Fund as it marks its 100th anniversary.

“I’m privileged to invest these individuals with this medal in recognition of their outstanding efforts to provide those who served our country, but may lack the means, with meaningful and formal funerals” said His Honour.

The Last Post Fund is a national non-profit organization and registered charity whose purpose is to ensure that no veteran is denied a dignified funeral and burial for lack of sufficient funds.
