JANUARY 31ST IS NEW DEADLINE TO DONATE
NEW BOOKS FOR ABORIGINAL YOUTH
TORONTO – The Honourable David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, is pleased to announce an extension to his drive to collect new books for Aboriginal youth in Ontario’s northern communities.
Several thousand brand new books have been donated by generous Ontarians and have been dropped off at Toronto Police Services stations and Ontario Provincial Police detachments in Toronto and throughout the province.
“We have received many requests to extend the deadline allowing individuals and organizations more time to contribute,”
said the Lieutenant Governor. “I invite all Ontarians to drop by their local book store and pick up a book or two for aboriginal youth who live in remote parts of our province where no book stores exist.”
The Book Drive will last until Thursday, January 31, 2008. Donations of brand new books can be dropped-off at any Toronto Police Service station or Ontario Provincial Police detachment for the duration.
