TO INVITE THE LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR TO AN EVENT
Each year, the Lieutenant Governor attends hundreds of special events, ceremonies, and celebrations throughout Ontario. To invite the Lieutenant Governor to an event, mail or fax a signed letter written on your organization's letterhead, accompanied by:
- an outline of the event, including the date, time, venue, and the role you would like the Lieutenant Governor to play: visit, deliver a speech, present an award, attend a performance, etc.
- a proposed itinerary for the Lieutenant Governor, including the arrival time and place, names of the host and emcee, event sequence, speech length, and the departure time and place
- details of the physical accessibility to the venue, including any places the Lieutenant Governor would be invited to go
- the number of people expected to participate, and whether they are volunteers, directors, members of the public, etc.
- background on the hosting group, including its registered charitable number if it is a non-profit organization
- the name, address, telephone, fax, e-mail, and website address of the host organization and event coordinator
