The Lieutenant Governor of Ontario

Past Vice-Regal Residences

Between 1868 and 1937, Ontario's lieutenant governors were provided with an official residence, similar to those provided in other provinces and by the federal government for the Governor General. Since 1937, Ontario’s lieutenant governors have resided in their own homes or had temporary accommodations in Toronto, and the Lieutenant Governor's Suite at Queen's Park has served as the setting for official functions and hospitality.
