the title“ The Honourable” is granted the Lieutenant Governor for life. The Lieutenant Governor and his spouse are addressed as Your Honour or as His Honour and Her Honour while in office.
the vice-regal salute is a musical salute played to honour the Lieutenant Governor when he attends an event. It consists of the first six bars of "God Save The Queen" and the first and last four bars of "O Canada." It has been used in Canada since 1968. Pipe bands play the tune "Mallorca" as the Vice-regal Salute.
a guard of honour of 100 persons may be mounted for a Lieutenant Governor, as it is for The Queen, the Governor General, foreign Heads of State, and members of the Royal Family. A Canadian Lieutenant Governor is also entitled to be saluted by uniformed members of the Canadian Forces.
a 15-gun salute may be fired when a Lieutenant Governor takes the oaths of office, opens or prorogues a session of the Legislature, visits a military base, takes part in ceremonial occasions, or departs from the province upon leaving office.
